Cemtech Asia: Singapore - 22-25th June 2008
A first for Singapore!
Cemtech Asia has successfully concluded in Singapore, a three day event at the Pan Pacific Hotel and with over 150 participants from some 35 countries, quite a
cosmopolitan affair in one of Asia's favourite cities.
Taking as its focus two main topics: firstly a comprehensive review of South
East Asian cement markets over the first full day and then moving on to more
technical matters on Day 2 with a particular focus on secondary fuel systems,
the programme successfully illuminated regional market realities in today's
rather uncertain economic times, before challenging delegates, especially the 50
individual cement production companies who had flown in from as far afield as
Italy, Algeria, India, Nepal, Tanzania, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines,
Australia and elsewhere, and not surprisingly a representative sample of
producers from Singapore's close neighbours Malaysia and Indonesia.
Combining with the main conference was an exhibition area with some 12
individual stands serving the international cement industry and added to all of
this was Cemtech's unrivalled hospitality levels over the full three days
culminating in a farewell dinner at the famed Raffles hotel.
And next year?
Well it’s too early to set the exact venue, but Cemtech will return to the ASEAN
region in 2009 with an enhanced programme, exhibition and some delightful
hospitality. The organisers look forward to seeing you all once again.
